Hypnotherapy for weight loss and successful slimming

We all know that weight loss occurs when we control our balance of calories, usually by eating less and exercising more. However, before this can be achieved, we often need to deal with our attitudes towards eating and exercise and this is where hypnotherapy can help.

I use hypnotherapy to support weight loss goals by helping people to:

  • I offer two approaches for clients who are seeking hypnotherapy to help them achieve weight loss. Please read on to find out which approach is more suited to your needs.

    Successful slimming session

    The successful slimming session is a single appointment lasting around 1.5 hours. It is for people who have already chosen their weight loss method and would like to increase their motivation to stick with the programme.

    I recommend choosing a sensible weight loss method that takes a balanced approach to eating and exercise. I am unwilling to support fad diets and unhealthy regimes as they will ultimately be counter-productive. Please ensure you gain clearance from your GP or a dietician if you have any health concerns that could be affected by attempting to lose weight.

    During the session, we will strengthen your motivation, identify the hidden resources that will help you succeed and clarify the action needed to achieve your weight loss goal. Your hypnotherapy session will be recorded and burned to a CD so that you can listen to it to maintain your enthusiasm and stay with the programme.

    I will also provide you with copies my two published relaxation CDs so that you are able to cope better with everyday stress without resorting to comfort eating. Blissful Relaxation is a CD you can use in the daytime to diminish stress, relieve anxiety and increase self-confidence. Blissful Sleep is for use as you are falling asleep at night-time. It helps you experience a positive connection with your spiritual self, find solutions to problems and enjoy a night of deep, refreshing sleep.

    This session will solidify your commitment to your slimming goal, increase your enthusiasm to get started, and help you stay motivated as you progress.

    Weight management hypnotherapy

    Sometimes, the reasons why it is difficult to control our eating and increase our exercise regime are complex. In these cases, it is useful to work holistically and treat weight management as part of a wider goal to increase confidence and self-esteem.

    If you feel emotionally negative much of the time, experiencing stress and unhappiness then you need to recognise that this is part of the weight issue. It may be that you comfort eat, find yourself binge eating or have compulsions for certain foods. Although it may seem that your weight is causing the low self-esteem, it will be hard to lose weight until you learn to value and appreciate yourself. It is also impossible to maintain a healthy weight if you see food as the enemy, so we need to improve your relationship with food.

    During weight loss hypnotherapy, I will gain an understanding of any areas that need addressing. We will then set goals to work on the feelings and behaviours that need improving to increase your self-esteem. As you begin to feel more positively about yourself it is much easier to improve your relationship with food and succeed with a slimming regime.

    We will then be able to work out the best approach for you and install positive new desires to eat more healthily and take more exercise. We can monitor your progress and continue to work on any areas that are still holding you back. This approach allows you to develop a positive attitude towards slimming successfully and maintaining a healthy body weight in the future.
