About Elizabeth:
Hypnotherapist and Coach

For many years, I have
been passionate about using personal development approaches to help
people overcome their problems and reach their goals. I believe that if
you want to make positive changes you can.
My role as a coach or
hypnotherapist is to help people get clear about three things: where
they are, where they want to be and how to get to where they want to be.
Knowing where you are now in your life is the first step and my
compassionate and non-judgemental attitude allows my clients to be
easier on themselves about the challenges they are facing. When people
say that a problem shared is a problem halved, truer words have never
been spoken. I also help my clients work out where they want to be,
which takes a little more coaxing as most of us get stuck in problems
and find it difficult to imagine a more positive future. The focus of our sessions together is to work out the steps that will take you in the
right direction. My training and experience has given me a considerable
tool kit to help with this and there is always an approach that will
work for you.
As well as my hypnotherapy
and coaching practice I offer training and seminars in personal and
professional development and I am currently developing products to
support people in achieving their dreams. I am inspired by my clients
and believe that anyone who is willing to seek help to lead a better
life should be proud of themselves.
Before I became a full time
hypnotherapist and coach, I worked for several years as the head of a
dyslexia department in a university, managing a large team of
specialists and publishing research in the dyslexia field. My initial
reasons for training in hypnotherapy were two-fold. Firstly, I have
always been fascinated by the pursuit of personal potential so my
interest in hypnotherapy was initially fuelled by my curiosity to
discover another method for living a better life. Secondly, I did not
believe that people with dyslexia were learning disabled and I wanted to
explore ways of helping them change their limiting beliefs about
themselves which I believed was the main reason for their difficulties.
I pursued a range of qualifications over the years and achieved success
with many dyslexic adults.
However, it seemed to me
that dyslexia was only one of a range of challenges that people face in
life and essentially we are all dealing with the same problem - how to
take the steps that will move us towards what we want out of life. As
news of my success spread, I was increasingly asked to help people
overcome a range of difficulties and I loved the variety and challenge
of expanding my own understanding of what makes positive change
possible. In time it made sense to practice full time in the field of
hypnotherapy and coaching.
My background in education
and research compels me to take an evidence-based approach to my
practice, meaning that I am always seeking the methods that will produce
the best results for my clients. So if you are seeking a positive change
in your life, pick up the phone and give me a call. This first step will
probably be the hardest, but together we can decide whether I am the
best person to help you.
I specialise in helping
people overcome panic attacks and anxiety, building confidence and
self-esteem, dealing with life changes such as redundancy and
relationship break-ups, stress management, weight control and smoking
cessation. I also have a unique combination of skills, training and
experience to help those with dyslexia overcome their difficulties.
There are a few areas that
I do not cover, such as hypnotherapy for childbirth and I will always
suggest a referral if this seems most appropriate.
However, I have worked with
clients on wide-ranging issues and I am interested to hear about your
needs. You can call me on 01782 507210 or 07709 956 972 for a relaxed
conversation about how I can help you.
